This wonderful dress was made in the 1940s from a mustard and black crepe in a colour block style. The dress is cut with a classic hourglass figure which is created using padded shoulders combined with a pleated waist (originally belted) to produce a stunning 1940s silhouette. The amazing mustard bishop sleeves with tight cuffs and stylish angular overhanging shoulder gives the dress a glamorous look, which runs throughout the entirety in the design. A high rounded neckline is beautifully highlighted using the mustard necktie which contrasts strongly against the black of the main body of the dress. A single line of black buttons runs down the centre of the dress from the neckline to the hem and there are functional hidden pockets at the hip. Inside, the dress is unlined and has a makers label for Winfield New York.
